Fall 2012 Academic Structure Updates

Back to Faculty | Staff Resources

During the weekend of 13 - 14 October 2012 OTIS performed a conversion in our Colleague information system to reflect the College of Art, Media & Design's structure and to bring the Division of Liberal Arts into alignment with the other academic areas. The changes updated our current records from the historic PCAD, CMAC and LA coding into CAMD and ACLAS. Examples of areas updated include courses, student programs and all areas that reference "department" codes. Additionally, CAMD and Liberal Arts will now reflect our three-tiered structure - Colleges, Schools and Programs.

The group who worked on the conversion chose to retain historic records in their original format. All historic records are being left under the old coding convention i.e. past graduates will still appear in reports under the College of Art & Design and the College of Media and Communication and previous course offerings will continue to fall under the old coding convention.

University staff who have access to informer or have been provided with refreshable spreadsheets will need to use the new codes, which are listed in the Colleague Academic Structure PDF.
