School of Theater - Welcome, First Year Students!

The Freshman experience includes group projects spanning all programs in the Ira Brind School of Theater, aimed at providing you with a comprehensive and coherent first year. Curriculum for first year students is carefully planned, ensuring a solid foundation before advancing into the remainder of your coursework.

The freshman curriculum has three principal themes:

  • Presence: Show up. Make your presence felt and your voice heard.
  • Ensemble: Work together, collaborate and create. Trust your partner. Commit to the group.
  • Content: “Make good art.” Be storytellers. Hold a mirror up to yourselves and the world.
